WHO WE ARE

This is Our Story

When we first came to Canada, we were deeply attracted by the beautiful scenery and fascinating customs. As first-generation immigrants, we wanted to do something special for this land. Vancouver, in addition to great mountains and waters, is world famous for its diverse food culture. The wide variety of ethnic cuisines, include Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and more. However, in this food rich city, there are few traces of Taiwanese food. So, we decided to introduce Taiwan’s signature beef noodle soup dish (New Row Mian in Chinese) to Vancouver. Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup is an Asian delicacy.

Ding Hao Noodle House was established in 2007 in Coquitlam, BC. The owner/chef was an apprentice at Taiwan’s beef noodle soup flagship restaurant—Lao Shan Dong Beef Homemade Noodle House. Our comfortable dining environment, traditional cooking style, friendly service and reasonable prices are our trademark. We strive to provide the highest food quality so that our guests can enjoy our delicious and nutritious food with peace of mind. We pay special attention to cleanliness in every area, and go through a rigorous process of ingredients selection, and also provide genuine and caring service.

Where We Came From

Ding Hao Noodle House is modeled after Lao Shan Dong Homemade Noodle House. Lao Shan Dong Homemade Noodle House is one of the most traditional Taiwanese beef noodle houses, having been in Taiwan over 70 years. The famous Michelin Guide’s International Food Reviewer visited Taiwan in 2017. For them, Lao Shan Dong Homemade Noodle House stood out among thousands of beef noodle restaurants.

The Bibendum Recommendation List by Michelin Guide only includes restaurants that serve excellent quality food with reasonable prices. Lao Shan Dong Homemade Noodle House has been listed for the past two years which means that our food is affirmed by an international food guide. We are convinced that pure taste does not need to follow modern trends.

In the era of speed where the market is full of chemical soup bases, Ding Hao only uses the ancient method of stewed beef soup even though it is laborious and time consuming. In order to ensure the quality of our food, Ding Hao focuses on making Taiwanese beef noodles. We do not sell fried rice, fried noodles or seafood dishes, because we want to make every bowl of beef noodle with our heart. That way you can enjoy the authentic Taiwanese beef noodles every time you visit — fresh, delicious, with natural ingredients.
